Troop 16 was founded in 1924 in Butler, PA as part of the Butler County Council (now Moraine Trails Council). It has existed in its current form for over 100 years now.
The Scouting America Program is for youth ages 11 to 17, and focuses on developing our youth into tomorrows leaders through outdoor skills, team building, leadership development, personal growth, servant leadership and citizenship. While the name has changed over the last several years the core of the Scouting America Program is the same fundamental ideals of ScoutsBSA and Boy Scouts that came before it.
Venture Scouts Crew 16 was started in 2021 to provide additional opportunities and adventure to our older youth members. Venturing is a Co-Ed program for youth ages 14 to 20 that offers additional opportunities for adventure, learning and leadership to older youth and young adults.
At it’s core scouting remains a family activity, that will see youth working alongside adult volunteers and family members to accomplish age appropriate goals, and build up confidence and skills so that our youth can sore high with the Eagles!
